Location and Neighboring Countries

Belarus, located in Eastern Europe, is bordered by Russia to the northeast, Ukraine to the south, Poland to the west, Lithuania to the northwest, and Latvia to the north. The country’s strategic location has made it historically significant in regional geopolitics.

Population

As of my last knowledge update in September 2021, Belarus had a population of around 9.4 million people. The capital and largest city is Minsk, which is a key cultural and economic hub in the region.

Economy

Belarus has a diverse economy with a strong industrial base, particularly in manufacturing and heavy industry. The country is known for its machinery, agricultural products, and high-tech manufacturing. However, it has faced economic challenges due to reliance on Russian energy and trade, as well as political tensions with neighboring countries and the European Union.

Please note that the population and economic data may have changed since my last update in September 2021.
