  • Your strengths are the things that make you unique. They’re your skills, knowledge, and experiences that make it easier for you to do what other people have trouble doing. The more unique something is, the less likely it is to be copied or improved upon by competitors. For example, if you’re a car mechanic and can fix any model of car from any manufacturer with ease and accuracy, then this skill will set you apart from other mechanics who specialize only in certain makes or models (and therefore don’t know how to repair everything).
  • Your strengths should also include any positive attributes that customers value most about your business model—such as great customer service—and how these qualities distinguish your company from its competition.

In our SWOT analysis template word free, you should list your weaknesses. This is where you can write down anything that might make it difficult for your business to succeed in its current state.

For example: “I feel like I don’t have enough experience in this industry.”

Here are some ideas for what types of weaknesses might exist within your company:

  • Your product has fewer customers than expected.
  • You lack experience with certain aspects of running a company (e.g., accounting).

Opportunities are a critical part of the SWOT analysis. Without opportunities, you have no chance at growing your business and making money.

If you’re looking for new customers, this section is where it starts. You can use these points to identify what opportunities exist in your industry or location, as well as how they may relate back to your business goals. In general:

  • How many potential customers do we have? What percentage of people in this city already try our product/service before deciding whether or not they want more from us? Do we have any specific groups that would benefit from our services (i.e., moms)?
  • What kind of competition does our industry face? Who else sells similar goods/services as ours; how much competition there is overall; where are those competitors located (i.e., city vs state); what makes them different than us—and why should someone choose us instead! It is in the section of opportunities of SWOT analysis template word doc that you can state it in detail.

Threats are the things that could hurt your business. Threats can be internal or external, such as competitors, regulation and legislation, public opinion, technology and innovation.

Examples of threats:

  • Competition – a new company enters the market with superior products or services that are better than yours in some way (quality of service)
  • Regulation – government rules change that affect your business operations; for example tax laws or labour laws which make it more difficult for you to operate as efficiently as possible
  • Legislation/Legislation – legislation aims at protecting consumers against harmful products or behaviors (for example labelling requirements); this could mean higher costs when selling branded goods because of extra cost on packaging etc..

This is how you make a SWOT analysis!

You will need to use the following tools:

  • Microsoft SWOT analysis template word, which will make your analysis to be more professional and attractive and contribute to convincing others. You can also use Google Docs, but it’s not as good at formatting.
  • A spreadsheet to track your SWOT analysis. You can use Microsoft Excel, Google Spreadsheets or OpenOffice Calc.

The most important thing is to get started! If you’re feeling overwhelmed with all of this, don’t worry—you’ll get the hang of it after doing it a few times.

A SWOT analysis is a way to look at your business from a different perspective. It forces you to think about your strengths, weaknesses and opportunities in relation to each other. This helps you see where your business needs improvement and what areas are strong!

The best way to start is by writing down all of your thoughts and ideas about your business. This could include anything from what you like about it to the challenges you face each day. You can expand on these ideas in the spreadsheet or create new columns for them.

The next step is to organize your thoughts by answering these questions: What are the strengths of my business? (strengths, weakness) What opportunities do I see for improvement? (weaknesses, opportunities) What are the threats to my business? (weaknesses, opportunities). Then put them in our SWOT analysis template word by category.

You can also think about the goals of your business and how these relate to the SWOT analysis. For example, if you want to increase profits for your company, then this is an opportunity. If you’re looking for ways to save money, this would be a threat.

Once you have your SWOT analysis complete, it will be easier to make decisions about how to move forward with your business. You can use this analysis as a guide when making strategic decisions and better understand where the strengths of your business lie.
