Switzerland is a federal republic in Europe. The federal republic is situated in Western-Central Europe, and is bordered by Italy to the south, France to the west, Germany to the north, and Austria and Liechtenstein to the east. Bern and Zürich is the capital and largest city of Switzerland respectively, other major cities including Geneva, Basel, Lausanne and Lucerne.

Zürich: Zürich is the largest city in Switzerland and the capital of the canton of Zürich. It is the country’s economic and cultural center, known for its well-preserved medieval old town, vibrant cultural scene, and as one of the world’s leading financial centers.

Geneva: Located on the shores of Lake Geneva, the city is the second-most populous in the country and a global hub for diplomacy. It hosts numerous international organizations, including the United Nations and the Red Cross.

Basel: Basel, situated on the banks of the Rhine River at the corner of Switzerland, France, and Germany, is an important center for the chemical and pharmaceutical industries. It’s also known for its vibrant cultural life, including the Art Basel fair.

Bern: Bern is the de facto capital of Switzerland, known as the “Federal City”. It boasts a well-preserved historical center that is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is known for its high quality of life.

Lucerne: Lucerne, located in the heart of Switzerland, is a city that has preserved its medieval architecture. It is a popular tourist destination due to its attractions like the Chapel Bridge and the Water Tower.

Every individual political subdivision is an editable shape.
